About Us
Centre for Advance Research in Earthquake Studies (CARES) is one of the research center in Kurukshetra University funded by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) for real time monitoring and recording of earthquake activity in and adjoining regions of Haryana state. CARES has planned to install and maintain the Seismological Network of broad band stations in and adjoining areas of Haryana state. CARES will monitor earthquake activities on 24x7 basis through establishing a central recording station in the University.
Apart from earthquake monitoring, CARES is also actively involved in the seismological research studies mainly Seismic Hazard studies including both deterministic as well as probabilistic approach and microzonation studies. CARES will also impart information of geophysical and geotechnical investigations through site characterization studies for the better understanding of the earthquake hazard risk reduction.
